The ALLGOHERE hotel directory uses what the editor believes is a somewhat innovative system (within a directory) for assessing the pricing of hotel accommodation. During research, it quickly became apparent that although hotels and their brochures stated prices, these tend to fluctuate dependent on day of the week, the month or season. It is therefore hoped that in devising a system whereby pricing is relative to a hotel's rating (where available), the user gets a more accurate idea of what pricing is likely to be, whilst also being less prone to fluctuation. The price categorisation system is applied as set out below:
*** and most **** - between £50 & £100 (US$77-US$155 or €80-€159) per person, per night (usually including breakfast). Jurys Inns charge on a room only basis.
Some **** and ***** - above £100 (US$155 or €159) a night (usually including breakfast).
Hotels rated using Fireplaces - between £10 and £55 (US16-US$85 or €16-€88) per person, per night.
Guest Accommodation rated using Diamonds - between £10 and £50 (US$16-US$77 or €16-€80), per person, per night (usually including breakfast).
Motels - below £75 (US$116 or €119) per person, per night (usually including breakfast)
Town House hotels - from £75 (US$116 or €119), but usually over £100 (US$155 or €159) per person, per night (often not usually including breakfast).
Branded hotels - between £20 and £80 (US$31-US$124 or €32-€127) a night (paid on a room-only basis) - In Formule 1 hotels, rooms not designed for disabled guests are designed for a family of 4 with 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed as standard.
NOTES:If no rating is indicated, either no rating information was available, or the hotel has no rating. Please contact the hotel concerned for further information.
1 Star (*) - Small hotels, usually privately owned and run. Furnishings and facilities good but simple. Not all bedrooms will have en-suite facilities. Some hotels may not offer more normally expected services such as lunch.
2 Stars (**) - Small to medium sized hotels. On average, around half the bedrooms will have en-suite bathrooms or showers and may also have telephones and televisions.
3 Stars (***) - Medium sized hotels offering a greater range of facilities and services. These usually include a full reception service and a more formal restaurant and bar. All bedrooms should have en-suite facilities.
4 Stars (****) - Large hotels having spacious accommodation offering high standards of comfort and food. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Additional services offered should include porter service, room service, a formal reception, business facilities and probably a choice of restaurants, each having its own menu, character and style.
3/4 Stars (***/****) - The hotel either offers some facilities and services at 4 star standard and others at 3, or the hotel's standard is regarded as falling somewhere between a 3 and 4 star rating.
5 Stars (*****) - Large luxury hotels offering the highest international standards of accommodation, facilities, services and cuisine.
Branded hotels - Low budget hotels and lodges belonging to groups which offer a consistent, uniform standard of accommodation, facilities, services and catering arrangements nationwide. Primarily suited for one night stays or a brief stop-over intended as a base whilst travelling. Bedrooms have en-suite facilities including bathroom, telephone and television. A restaurant or restaurants are usually situated separately, but adjacent to the hotel.
Town House hotels - Small, personally run town-centre hotels which offer privacy, high quality room service and luxuriously furnished bedrooms. However, they often do not usually have the public rooms or formal restaurants associated with high quality hotels. Thus, they are normally situated in areas well served by restaurants.

A scale of 1-3 Fireplaces is used to denote the level of a hotel's accommodation and facilities, from basic to fully en-suite rooms with bathrooms and all the usual facilities. All The Circle member hotels serve meals, the quality of which are usually high, the menus consisting largely of local speciality dishes made using fresh local produce.

5 Diamond Guest Accommodation - Excellent quality in furnishing and rooms. At least 80% of bedrooms will have ensuite/private bathrooms. Excellent levels of customer care.
Gold or Silver Awards - Awarded in recognition of higher than expected
quality and standards of service or facilities.
It is possible to gain an indication of the level of accessibility provision at a given hotel using this Standard, and you may find that hoteliers make reference to it when contacting them. The Standard is administered by "Tourism For All", an organisation of which the ALLGOHERE.com hotel directory is a member. The Standard has been devised by the Hotel & Holiday Consortium (UK) which comprises the national regional tourist boards, representatives of the travel industry, and disability organisations. Hotels to which the Standard has been awarded have been assessed on the basis of inspections by consortium members. It is however stressed that the Editor of this directory advises that the Standard should, in a limited number of cases, be regarded as being indicative only, and users should be alert to possible inconsistencies of application.
The Standard has three categories of accessibility. These are:
Category 1 - The hotel is accessible to a wheelchair user travelling independently.
Category 2 - The hotel is accessible to s wheelchair user travelling with assistance.
Category 3 - The hotel is accessible to someone with limited mobility but able to walk a few paces and up a maximum of 3 steps.
