The Coach House at Crookham

Winner of the Cesar Award for the 'Best Bed & Breakfast in the North' and twice winner of the 'Which?' Bed & Breakfast Guide, The Coach House has now been open for 25 years, continually developing, improving and gaining praise from the really good guide books for its comfort, relaxed atmosphere and fabulous fresh food.

In this complex of renovated old farm buildings, including a 1680s cottage and an old smithy, surrounding a sun-trap courtyard you can enjoy it's warmth and atmosphere whilst taking advantage of all modern amenities available and being looked after by our friendly and helpful staff.

With outstanding facilities, this is the premier location in North Northumberland for anyone with a disability. Everywhere on the ground floor is accessible by wheelchair, both indoors and out. When converting the buildings, Lynne had doorways made wide enough for wheelchairs and eliminated unnecessary steps - even the clothes cupboards and bathrooms were designed for ease of access. All ground floor bedrooms and dining areas easily accessible by wheelchair.

Staff are eager to help with anything from special diets to packing your car. Exuberant hostess Lynne Anderson heads a team of extremely enthusiastic helpful staff and has run The Coach House in her very personal style for 25 years. She caters for guests "as if for visiting friends", ensuring warmth and easy atmosphere in which you can be as sociable or as private as you wish - a bit like visiting an aunt.

If you feel like being active their is a superb British Horse Society approved Riding Stable at Kimmerston, just a couple of miles from the Coach House. Kimmerston caters for disabled riders and their rates are very reasonable. So if you fancy trekking over the moors or riding along the superb Heritage Beaches and swimming bare-back in the sea this is the place for you!
